Postby tfielder » Sun Jan 22, 2012 7:21 pm

Why cant I find a HP Air filter for my 09 bike? Do they not make one? Whats the best flowing one available? BMC? Whats BRP putting on the race bike?

The stock air filter is ok.
BMC is a total waste of money, it's not their race filter, it's a stock replacement.
I used to import DNA high flow filters, made in Greece.
When I first started doing so, Ninja shop and myself split the order {minimum order 50}.
Then the owner over there decided there was not enough profit, and I got stuck
with 50. Those took 2 years to sell out. Recession forced me to stop selling them once
all were gone.
The only other high flow filter made is Piper Cross, which uses a rubber cage.
Too many had problems with them not fitting right. They were supposed to be improved,
but I have yet to hear that being done.
For racing or track day use, just pull the foam element out and use the screen only.

What do you recommend to clean the stock filter with, and what oil is best to use.

At what point will cleaning the air filter no longer work? In other words, at what point should you invest in another air filter, even if it is just another OEM air filter?
