06 clutch vs 09 clutch

Postby Mick-e » Sat May 10, 2014 2:17 pm

I'm in the process of putting my Yoydyne slipper clutch back in.
I had an 06 motor originally but I've put an 09 motor in (because that's what was cheapest on ebay)
The 06 clutch plate #1 is 2.6mm thick and the rest are 2.3 whereas on the 09 they are all 2.3.
Does anyone know why they changed?
I'm going to use the 09 steels and frictions that came with this motor for no other reason than they are in better shape than the burnt pieces I pulled out of my old engine.
I'm curious why they made this choice and am I going to screw myself by having my slipper be .3mm out of adjustment.
Thanks

The clutch hub was changed in 09.
I'm curious as to how the slipper is reacting to the different stack.
It's made to use the 06-08 stack.

I was told the same thing that the OEM hub chagned
Since we replace the hub with the Yoyo hub I put the thicker #1 plate in.
I'm riding tomorrow, and have some extra plates with me.
In theory nothing should be different.
