How do you stand it?

Postby Honinjsuz » Sat Nov 02, 2013 12:15 pm

The weather in east half is horrible. Cal is great, best riding of the whole year. Why do you people stay in that climate? Quakes? Why not move and--- Oh wait, too many people crowding in here already. Dilemma. Here's a thought, use your vac. time to come to Cal in the fall- say late Sept to early Nov. Better and cheaper than Europe. Mountains, ocean, rainforests, desert (at the best time) blooms, verdant farmland at harvest time, wine tasting, beer tasting (yes, it's booming), even skiing in high country. If you are a kid, Disney/et al theme parks. Really, what do you think?

Looking at a 27 deg morining it sure sounds inviting. Spent two years there when I was in the military and rode my bike all over. My wife has relatives that live in Calif. Being retired I don't have to go out but that sure gets old. Yeah Calif. and other warm climates sure look good in the winter. :cool

Guess we're all getting it now. Overnights in the 20s for a week, snow in the foothills here in NorCal. Still better than from Nevada east. Fla. seems the place to be.

Ok, yes we need rain/snow here in CA. BUT, mid-day riding is great (30s at night). In San Luis Obispo it was 91 yesterday! Local weather said it was the warmest spot in the nation. Trying to ride as much as I can while it lasts. Sunny, 69-70 afternoon temps with many fun places to ride, apple pie, wine tasting- an afternoon as good as it gets.

Cold gets tiring after a while. I moved to SC from new york metro area over 20 years ago. Winter is 55-30 *F with variations. Wouldn't move back.
