So is it preferable for us to post directly on this server or host it offsite (e.g. Photobucket, Image Shack, etc.)?
The following sentence is true. The previous sentence is false.

I'm told we have plenty of room on this server.
Although I tried downloading from my computer, and it never loaded.
I'm still learning how to work thing though. :geek:

A bit of speculation on my part here, but I would venture that it's still preferable to externally host any pictures or videos. It's what those sites are designed for. Any individual item posted directly here is small, but they can add up to a significant amount, potentially leading to server issues.

Still, it's nice to have the convenience to do either.

One additional distinction is that pictures hosted here are viewable only by members who are logged on. Externally hosted pictures show up both the guests and members logged on.

That's a good point hickman. I have got into the habit of hosting my pics on photobucket and just linking to them here. I think it looks tidier and also can only be good for the speed of the site.

not only that but there is a limit of three uploads per post where linking from another site allows for alot more...

Yeah, I only asked 'cause sometimes I just want to upload something quick from my computer or something like that.

It's nice to have the options, though.
