anyone change the gage lights or background

so im also on the ex500 forum and many there have change the bulbs in there gauge clusters to leds of color of their choice has anyone done this to the 650 is pos easy i haven't taken the gauge apart or anything but curious since its freezing here and will be for awhile

also the have printed of net background instead of the plain black ones and swapped them out ill look for thier posts about it but it these seem like cheap mods to just add a little personalization to our bikes

Last year i tried to get a group buy that changed the gauge face and colors, all would be custom but couldn't get the 25 minimum for the company to do it... I don't think the link is even still there

yea but that was like what 150 to 200 just putting a printout in and led should be cheep

i seen the post before and they looked nice but with a family i just couldn't bring myself to spent it on looks not that i would not want them

they were more than a printout, and you could choose how your gauges were lit up... I was also trying to see if they could adjust the speedo numbers about 6-7% to have the speedo read closer to actual speed....

The stock 06-08 650R gauge doesnt use LED backlighting, rather super tiny quarter-turn incandescent bulbs. If you were to replace them with leds youd also have to add some resistors and just glue the things in there.

Its been done before, and a user has posted pictures on here.
