generator rotor removal

Postby dodgefan3737 » Thu Mar 22, 2012 8:58 am

I finally got all the parts i needed to rebuild my bike, again. Just a quick question though do you need the special flywheel removal tool to remove the generator rotor or will any jaw type gear puller work. Keep in mind my generator rotor is trashed and im installing another one.

According the manual, you'll need:

Special Tools -

Grip: 57001-1591

Rotor Holder: 57001-1658

Flywheel Puller Assembly, M38 × 1.5/M35 ×
1.5: 57001-1405

I think you can work around the grip and holder, but you'll need some kind of puller. I would recommend trying to force it off.

I'd e-mail Gary/BRP, he can give you a better idea.
