Looking for some help please

Postby madman91 » Thu Jul 26, 2012 8:41 pm

Im looking for a 650 tech to diagnose 2 issues im having and perform a 15k service on my bike. The kawi dealer wanted what i felt was WAY too much money for the service. Im willing to help with all the work and will compensate "food, beer, cash, etc." to anyone that is willing to help me. Im in the Auburn, Georgia area but im willing to travel a little ways to get this done. please let me know if your interested.

Bike info: 2008 ninja 650r. about 14k miles. only mod that im aware of is a leo vince sbk exhaust.

I'm not in GA right now. But my brother has been real happy with SMF Cycles in Newnan. They don't rip you off and meet there timelines. They are an hour or so away, maybe more. He went through all the local dealers (all ripped him off, one even cross threaded half the bolts on his bike).

The bike has a rough idle and the other issue is what i can only describe as a clunking sound when your riding. It does not increase or decrease with rpm's and gets less noticeable when you have been riding for a while

Update: The clunking noise was definately the chain in MAJOR need of adjustment! It was very loose and needed a good clean/lube. Found a reputable shop that did it for me for $16.25 total. I felt that was a really fair price. They even did a test ride after to check their work. I rode the bike home and it was butter smooth all the way. :cool
