2012 exhaust retro fit to a 2006?

Postby 4play » Fri Jul 19, 2013 11:02 pm

I'm looking at using a 2012 exhaust system on my '06 to help boost the midrange & it already has an O2 bung for the autotune.
Anyone know if it'll fit?

Wow, my first reply. What year and model is the bike in the photo? Where did you get the hp and torque figures that will increase your bikes hp and or torque?

It's an '06 Ninja With a few Versys parts including the fuel tank. I'm not trying to add HP, I'm moving the torque curve a tad lower in the rpm range. I swapped in the versys intake cam and the versys also used a crossover in the exhaust, Kawasaki changed the exhaust on the '12 Ninja to boost torque and they also added an O2 sensor which I can use with the autotune. I picked one up cheap and afterwards read a line that said the new swingarm made room for the new muffler design.

The answer is no. The protrusion on the front of the muffler would hit the drain plug. So I decided I'd hack off the header & use the header. Nope, they changed the spigot to the head. $39 of ebay money down the tube...
