Postby knuck » Sat Mar 06, 2010 9:42 am

Hey fellas,

Help. How do i remove the side panel where the rear passenger handles are? Well, the right side (while seated) panel anyway. I removed the grab bar alright but its not budging. Yes I'm a 'tard but i could use some help.

There is about four bolts on top and those black push pins on the bottom and the small side covers by the tank. I think thats it but thats just from memory.

Well, that didn't go so well. I removed the bolts and those plastic pop-rivet things, all except for one. After i snapped off the bracket on the side panel for that one, threw a tantrum and went for a walk I had a good look at the rivet. Only then did I notice that all I had to do was punch the center and slip it out. Too late. There are a couple other lips and holder-oners on the side panel that held it on there fairly snugly even after all the rivets and bolts were removed. The rest of the install didn't go any better. Its too bad really, the pictures look so cool. Guess I'll buy a case of beer and talk one of my more mechanically inclined buddies to come over and give me a hand.......again.

Step 1: Unscrew the 2 black plastic screws on the tail center cover.
2} With a small flat blade screwdriver, pry the rivets out.
3} Remove the 2 bolts {grab handle}.
4} Pull up, and remove center cover.
Now every thing will come apart.
Careful you don't lose the rubber pieces on the taillight.
