Venting your wind shield
Has anyone tried cutting a vent in the lower portion of their wind shield as a way to reduce wind buffeting? I have seen this on some aftermarket screens.
Re: Venting your wind shield
I went ahead and bit the bullet. I decided to start with a simple round hole that I could reshape later. My only test so far has been the 25 mile commute to work this morning. It’s a breezy day so I can’t say conclusively how much affect it’s had but it does seem a little quitter. And honestly the simple round hole doesn’t look that out of place. I will update as time goes on.
Re: Venting your wind shield
Well I’ve ridden a good 75 miles since vinting the shield and I must say it does appear to help. The air coming off the wind shield is much smoother and this is the first time I’ve been able to do interstate speeds with my face shield up and not feel like it was going to rip my head off. It looks like it was a good move.

How big is the hole?
Are you going to enlarge it or add more?

The hole is 2.5 inch. So far it is doing the job as it is so I don't plan to change it as this time.
